• Blinded by the Sun – Courrèges Spring/Summer 2026

For Spring/Summer 2026, creative director Nicolas Di Felice unveils “Blinded by the Sun”, a Courrèges collection that examines fashion’s evolution under the intensity of a global heatwave, both a literal and metaphorical reflection of a world in flux.

Merging the house’s iconic futuristic heritage with today’s environmental realities, Di Felice replaces the space-age optimism of the 1960s with a new urgency. The result is a collection that confronts the fragility of beauty and the resilience of form in a warming climate.

The runway, encircled by a radiant ring of light, became a living thermometer. As a voice announced the rising summer temperatures, models emerged in visionary silhouettes designed for survival under the glare. The opening look, a baseball cap fitted with five visors, draped and tucked into a matching A-line mini skirt, set the tone: protection as elegance, adaptation as style.

Di Felice explored the interplay of exposure and movement through innovative tailoring. Leather motorcycle jackets featured sleeve zippers designed to catch the breeze, hybrid cuts transformed shorts into elongated back skirts and bodysuits revealed strategic geometric cutouts that balanced sensuality and function.

Heat, in Di Felice’s vision, became a metaphor for transformation. “When the sun is too bright, everything begins to blur,” he noted. This idea materialised in garments constructed from slender, shimmering straps evoking reflections, dampness and the sense of matter slowly melting. As the temperature on the runway rose from 22°C to 30°C, the palette shifted from cool, icy blues to sun-drenched tones, while fabrics gradually lightened, turning translucent before fading entirely.

The collection’s final looks embodied a futuristic fragility: dresses and tops sprouting solar panel-like structures reminiscent of car windshields and distressed garments crafted from plant-based vinyl: delicate, experimental and sustainable.

With “Blinded by the Sun”, Nicolas Di Felice continues to redefine Courrèges as a house of progressive elegance, one that radiates light, urgency and innovation, season after season.
