FIDAN NOVRUZOVA debuted on the official Paris Fashion Week calendar with La Vanité, its SS27 collection, presented on September 28th 2026 at an art gallery in Saint-Germain-des-Prés. Guests were welcomed into the brand’s reimagining of Parisian shop displays of the 1920s and ‘30s, with the collection displayed across mannequins, dioramas and flat-lays articulating its exploration of vanity.
This season, vanity arrives as an attitude rather than a vice. It emerges in the moments of preparation that precede one’s passage from private to public, in front of the mirror – or at a literal vanity – and in the pleasure of dressing up. As the newest entry into the brand’s ongoing exploration of the modern woman’s wardrobe, La Vanité is a celebration of that private effort and the joy it brings, a feeling easily forgotten in a moment that has made a virtue of restraint.
This sense of joy found its way into new colours and fabrications, guided by an urge for lightness that Novruzova followed throughout the design process: lighter fabrics, lighter constructions and even new footwear styles that pare down the brand’s signature square-toed silhouette. Familiar elements from the brand’s archive return in this lighter register, with a collage of 1920s structures and 1980s silhouettes remaining central eras to the brand’s visual codes.
Pairing soft sculptures with contrasting colours and textiles, Mara Goldberg’s Scenographies Molles series served as a cardinal inspiration for the entire collection, informing Novruzova’s approach to construction and fabric. Florence Henri’s portraiture and August Sander’s early photographs, each capturing a striking sense of presence and character, similarly provided Novruzova with an integral starting point from which she continued to explore the world of the “Fidan woman”.
The collection builds on the brand’s established codes – constructed shapes, pocket details, elongated collars, playful jersey – alongside the development of looser structures, such as a sculptural neoprene top with rounded shoulders. “Deconstruction often brings a feeling of effortlessness,” says Novruzova, “but with this collection, we put a lot of effort into constructing the deconstruction. Things may look misplaced – long collars, etc – but nothing is an accident. Everything is considered – as one does when preparing themselves for the day.”
A heatwave during fabric sourcing brought more flou than usual, with silks, silk satins and duchesse satin merging with the brand’s lusher materials. Yellows, reds, burgundies and shades of purple join the brand’s familiar palette of white, cream, black and khaki. Novruzova’s first collaboration with a print designer produced a yellow leopard and a print spelling out not the brand’s logo, but just her full name – a tongue-in-cheek nod to vanity.
Footwear marks the season’s clearest shift. The new Jet Kitten Heel Wedge softens the brand’s hallmark square toe, accompanied by strappy elements resolving into two bows. The season also introduces a reimagining of the Stan Smith, supported by Adidas, where the emblematic three stripes are integrated into the lacing construction.

The new Mira Vanity bag takes the collection’s theme most literally, with a tiny mirror set into the top to form an unexpected vanity. An evolution of the best-selling Boa Four Clasp bag, the Mira features a longer strap and an elongated trapèze shape. “The initial idea was an unexpected vanity and it became a bag for everyday life with a hint of vanity and play.” The Bruno, Boa and Lala bags return in red, purple and yellow leopard.
